Refund policy
Please read the following information carefully. There are two separate return processes depending on the reason for your return: one for artwork damaged in transit, and one for exercising your right of withdrawal. Each process is described in the relevant section below.
Damaged shipments
Receipt: Upon delivery of the print, the buyer or the person taking receipt must inspect the condition of the package, photograph it if damaged, and note any relevant reservations on the carrier's delivery document before the carrier departs.
Returns and complaints: In the event of a damaged package or damage to the artwork discovered once unpacked, the buyer must contact studio@mercedesparodi.com directly by email within 48 hours of receipt, providing supporting photographs.
Please do not use the return request option in your customer account for damage or loss in transit claims — damage cases require photographic evidence and are handled directly by our team in partnership with our production partner.
Please note that the right of withdrawal will not apply to prints that were received damaged, but for which no notification was made within 48 hours of receipt.
Damage and loss in transit claims are handled in partnership with our production partner, at no additional cost to you. We will arrange a replacement shipment or full reimbursement as appropriate.
Your right of withdrawal
Under Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, customers resident in the European Union have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of delivery of their order, without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you, takes physical delivery of the last item in your order. Return shipping costs are borne by the buyer.
For customers outside the European Union, the 14-day right of withdrawal is offered voluntarily by Luminous Editions as a gesture of goodwill and does not constitute a legal obligation under the laws of the buyer's country of residence.
How to exercise your right
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the withdrawal period expires by submitting a return request via your customer account at luminouseditions.com. When prompted to select a reason, please select 'Other' (in compliance with French/European consumer laws for EU markets), and write in the notes field: "I wish to exercise my right of withdrawal". You will automatically receive a written email confirmation of your request, which will serve as your proof of notification.
If you are unable to access your customer account, please contact us directly at studio@mercedesparodi.com with your order number and the subject line: Right of Withdrawal — Order [N°], stating clearly that you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal.
Return shipping
Once your withdrawal request has been approved, you will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the print to Mercedes Parodi EI in France (the return address and returns procedure will be clearly outlined following reception of the withdrawal notification).
Prints must not be returned to our partner laboratory in Germany. We recommend using the same carrier that delivered your order, or an equivalent service with tracking and adequate insurance to cover the value of the artwork. To enable reimbursement within the legal timeframe, the print must be returned within 14 days of your withdrawal notification, with proof of dispatch including a tracking number and declared value appropriate to the value of the artwork.
Where a Certificate of Authenticity has been received, it must be returned together with the print.
Return procedure (Customers outside the European Union)
Any artwork being returned must be shipped exclusively to Mercedes Parodi EI in France (to the return address indicated following withdrawal approval). International buyers are required to complete the customs and transport documentation in their country of dispatch, and must select the option "Returned goods" on the customs declaration form, attaching the original Luminous Editions purchase invoice. Failure to do so may result in French customs duties or import taxes being levied upon receipt of the parcel. Any such charges incurred as a result of incorrect or incomplete customs documentation will be deducted from the final refund amount.
Condition of return
The print must be returned in its original packaging and in the same condition as delivered. If the print is returned damaged or in degraded condition due to handling beyond what is necessary to assess the artwork, we reserve the right to make a deduction from the reimbursement corresponding to the diminished value.
Reimbursement
For delivery within the EU, and subject to the above conditions, we will reimburse you the full purchase price, including the original delivery costs, within 14 days of the date on which you notified us of your decision to withdraw, in accordance with Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. However, we reserve the right to withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned print, or until you have provided proof of dispatch including a tracking number and declared value, whichever occurs first. Reimbursement will be made using the same payment method as your original transaction.
For delivery outside the EU, the same conditions apply with the exception of reimbursement of customs duties and local taxes paid by the buyer to customs authorities or the carrier, which are not refundable by the seller.
